About these terms
Baku is developed and operated by Dekan Studio — an independent developer. “We”, “us” and “our” refer to Dekan Studio. These terms govern your use of Baku. By using the service, you agree to these terms; if you do not agree, do not use it. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled.
Accounts and eligibility
You must have reached the age of majority where you live and be able to enter into this agreement to hold a Baku account. Children may enjoy stories under adult supervision. You are responsible for managing child profiles and for providing only information you are authorized to use.
Keep your sign-in information private and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for your use of the account and for keeping information you provide accurate.
Acceptable use
Do not use Baku to create unlawful, abusive or exploitative content, violate another person’s privacy or intellectual-property rights, access another person’s account or private stories, bypass purchase or usage restrictions, or disrupt the service. Do not submit sensitive personal information that is unnecessary to create a story.
Stories and generated content
Some stories, images and narration are generated using AI. Output may be inaccurate, similar to output supplied to others, or unsuitable for a particular child. Caregivers should review content before sharing it with children. Baku provides entertainment, not medical, psychological or other professional advice, and does not guarantee sleep or developmental outcomes.
Content and permission to use it
You retain any rights you hold in material you submit. You give us permission to process, reproduce and transmit that material to the extent needed to provide the features you request, including generating, storing and delivering stories and narration through our service providers. Handling and retention of personal information remain subject to the Privacy Policy.
Subject to these terms and your applicable plan, you may access and use Baku and the content made available to you for personal, non-commercial family use. This permission does not transfer ownership of the app, branding or shared story collection, or authorize their resale or redistribution. Rights in those materials remain with their respective owners.
We do not promise that AI-generated output is unique, eligible for copyright protection or free of third-party rights. These terms do not grant exclusive ownership of generated content.
Subscriptions and purchases
Available plans, prices, billing periods and usage allowances are displayed in the app and the relevant store purchase flow. Review those details before purchasing. Subscriptions renew according to the terms shown by the store unless cancelled in time through that store. Free and paid features may have different allowances.
Manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play or Apple’s subscription settings. Cancellation generally stops future renewal; access for the remaining paid period and any refund are governed by the purchase terms, store rules and applicable law. Deleting the app or your Baku account does not cancel billing.
For store purchases, request refunds through the relevant store’s process. Nothing in these terms removes any mandatory right to a refund, cancellation or other consumer remedy. Contact Baku support for account or entitlement problems.
Deleting your account
An accepted deletion request disables account access and begins permanent erasure. There is no cancellation window or account recovery. Creating another account does not restore the previous account, its content or its purchases, and purchases belonging to a deleted account cannot be claimed again. This does not limit any refund or other remedy required by law.
Deleting your Baku account does not delete your Google or Apple account. See the account deletion instructions and Privacy Policy for the process and retained data.
Completion of account erasure refers to the active account data and personal content managed by Baku, subject to the retention exceptions in the Privacy Policy. When your account-deletion request is accepted, Baku will automatically send deletion requests to Qonversion, OpenAI, ElevenLabs and Brevo for your associated personal data processed by those services. Sending a request does not mean the provider has completed deletion. Data already processed by those services follows their applicable retention and deletion controls, as explained in the provider-specific account-deletion section. This does not limit your privacy rights or Baku’s obligations under applicable law.
Service changes and suspension
Features may change or be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, faults or third-party service interruptions. We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address a breach of these terms, fraud, security risks or legal requirements. You may contact support to ask for a review.
If we discontinue the service or materially change paid features, we will provide notice and any remedies required by applicable law and purchase terms. Suspension or discontinuation does not remove your mandatory consumer rights.
Responsibility and consumer rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided on an “as available” basis without a guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every intended use. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses to the extent that such liability may lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or any applicable mandatory consumer guarantees. Your rights under the laws that apply to you remain available.
Questions, disputes and changes
Please contact us about a concern so we can try to resolve it. These terms do not require arbitration or prevent you from using courts, regulators or consumer-resolution procedures available under applicable law.
We may revise these terms as the service changes. The date above identifies the latest revision. We will provide notice of material changes and seek agreement where required by law. If you do not accept revised terms, stop using the service and cancel any renewal separately through your store; mandatory rights relating to an existing purchase remain unaffected.
